IMHO Petrobras drilled a wild cat well to analyze the drill area 3-D information. They know the cost of short term drilling verse the cost of a long term (production type) well. Given the agreement I would not want to put all the eggs in one basket either.

I do not know of any big drilling area being brought into a production environment without knowing everything around the area and that can be done only by punching holes in the ground.

You never want to punch a production hole were you would want to get the minimal flow rate duration. You want to get the most for your buck as possible.

I am still a MEO LT investor even though I purchased some at a high price. As of this point I am not ready to lose anything yet.
