I must say I sympathise quite strongly. Gold miners are a huge joke generally in my opinion...like most mining companies.
As for the gold price...the lack of action in gold has really baffled me as well. I don't know that it is quite the manipulation that people say (ie JPM shorts or whatever) but I do know that all these markets are rigged, that there is a lot of money supply increase going on, debts are still increasing and there is a lot of instability.
I don't know when or if gold will have it's day but unless history really is different this time I think trouble will come and gold will most likely move up.
I've always viewed it as insurance and always will.
As for government wants...they can want what they like but ultimately they reality will deal with them.
