Haha good to see you get your rant out about stockbrokers. What I meant about not being naive is that I have been there so I know the shenanigans that go on that mom and pop investors may not be aware of. Yes some are glorified car salesmen and some are stupid but there are some intelligent ones as well with a modicum of financial intelligence.
Thanks for your response to ALQ, yes it did seem odd that a few days after the "profit downgrade" there was the talk of the takeover. But almost too soon to put a a red flag if you know what I mean. Can't really make it any more obvious than that if that was the case but what do I know.
Your last post does bring in the dilemma though... do we sell on this "opportunity" or are there more to come. That is the dichotomy of the market. As a long term holder I am not too concerned with the daily gyrations and hope that ALQ is at the bottom of the cycle and will grow from here.
