Will the merger go ahead? Of course it will! It's a friendly takeover endorsed by Integra's board, and overwhelmingly embraced by Integra shareholders and the wider market!

The only thing that could prevent Integra and SLR merging is if a competing bid was received. And if such a bid was received it would have to better the offer made by Silver Lake! Very unlikely now, but nevertheless it's a possibility and for that reason, maybe buying Integra shares instead of SLR is the better option?

As ortheil rightly says, if you think the merger will go ahead, (or there is a possibility of a competing bid for Integra), then you are better off taking the discount offered by buying Integra shares instead of SLR.
