No real advantage except that once trading activity reaches a point when you cannot argue that you are a shareholder, then you are considered to be carrying out a business as a share trader. My trades would exceed 10 per day. Someone who had an income net loss carried over from previous years would be able to offset profit income in subsequent years. Same with capital gain losses and profits.
I can deduct from my gross profits all expenses in relation to carrying out the business of share trading. eg brokerage costs, internet and media expenses etc etc. Mak if you are considering full time trading let me tell you be prepared to lose money initially and only one in 100 actually make it successful. I have been trading now for in excess of 20 years. If you speak to your accountant they can give you the low down on investing in shares as a shareholder versus a share trader.
