    Spaniard I agree. If this sort of movement were to gain traction here in Australia it could affect a lot of short sellers here too. It could become that just the threat of crowd storming a stock may be enough to force the short sellers to close their positions. Currently the top three shorted stocks on the ASX are Webjet (WEB) at 14.16%, Tassal (TGR) at 11.77%, and Mesoblast at 10.30%. Imagine if it became practice that any stock that hit a 10% short became the target of a crowd storming raid. Eventually the shorters would be reluctant to short any stock that approached that 10% mark...........When you've cleared stocks with 10% shorting you then start on those with 9%.
