It does matter...Arabs had NO countries of their own for centuries....They were simply Arabs...Under the Ottomans they were known throughout North Africa and The Southern Middle east as Arabs....... it was after the demice of the Ottoman empire that the notion of nationhood was imparted to them by the West..... Nowhere then (1917) was there a mention of a Palestinian people...nor a Palestinian Country!!! It is a much...much later "invention"......
