I remember a while back on a video somewhere , that the people then were saying that the E.U. would likely take some kind of action against Chinese originated EV's because of how cheaply they are produced and therefore the fear that they (Chinese auto makers) could take over and dominate the E.U. market.
Of course there is cheap manufacture and better quality arguments to be made ... I suspect the U.S. had similar concerns about its domestic car manufacturing and sales?...
I must admit, it was always something I was concerned about in the back of my mind regarding our (then) off-take arrangements with GF.
The big thing for the USA 'side', is as far as I'm aware, chemical production is still a long way off competing with that of China?
