No need to go to the expense of new software, Arthur.
You can do all that you need with Metastock ... those individual Gann lines will be come one of your best indicators, if they are used properly.
Many traders have trouble with Gann's stuff, because he wrote in a very oblique writing style ... sometimes he said what he meant, but at other times he only hinted at a trading solution.
His most frustrating book was written as a romance, in 1927. In it, he inserted coded astrological messages about his timing methods for the markets.
TIME works as well today, as it did in Gann's heyday.
We also have the advantage of being able to construct charts in seconds, something that was a very laborious job for the people he employed in those days.
It is naive to think that no advances have been made in analyzing the TIME axis since Gann's day too.
Don't get too bogged down in Gann's work, as now it is considered as only a stepping stone to some better methods.
One of the problems associated with his work was the original charts that were made on graph paper that was 8-squares-per-inch, to cater for the 1/8th increments that US stocks trade in their markets.
That paper is VERY difficult to buy for most overseas students and then they still have the problem of "squaring-the-scales" and hand-drawing the chart.
None of these problems exist with the new methods, that approach TIME as an entity in itself and make both TIME and PRICE projections much easier.
No need for expensive software, just a pencil and paper to do some very simple calculations.
If you doubt how effective such TIME cycles can be, just check the AYO posts on here, Egoli and the AussieOilers site, posted BEFORE this recent low.
Other examples also exist on this forum, where the turn has been called WEEKS in advance and the cycle has come in right on TIME ... TIM 310701 and CVI on 121201 to name just two of them ...
None of this is rocket science, but it does require some study and the DISCIPLINE to include it in your trading plan.
Using TIME axis analysis can also confirm previous analysis in ANY market. Whether we use technical analysis or fundamental analysis, it matters not ... TIME axis analysis will give us more complete data, on which to base our trade entries and exits.
