There is a hell of a lot of science in Finance and the markets.
You need to be able to read Financial Statements, which requires a grasp of Financial Accounting (and other accounting concepts)
You need to have a working knowledge of the Corporations act, Taxation Act (inc superannuation).
You need to know statistical concepts plus a fair bit of applied maths, inculding financial techniques such as DCF, NPV, IRR etc
A few decades in business and some general life exprerience doesnt hurt either.
