    Hopefully this isn't too off topic.

    Today I was admiring my vege patch and it got me thinking, where do veges come from? They must have originated somewhere - so where are there wild lettuces, wild tomatoes, wild carrots, wild cauliflower etc?

    They must have come from somewhere mustn't they? So they should still be there in the wild (or at least some of them). Just seems weird that you never hear of veges in the wild.

    Or is this a really stupid question and I'm missing something obvious?
