garnaut report rules out compensation...

...for power generators. However:

"One option in Professor Garnaut's report ...is the offer of assistance for power generators that invest in new technology to lower their emissions, for example carbon capture and storage, coal drying or gasification."

Lets hope the government doesn't give in to the whining for compensation when good options exist for them to clean up their act.
