I think you will find all the Midnight Oil boys are former law students. Peter's gaffe was not dumb, but I bet he wishes we'd believe it was.
No ... it was a truthful, freudian, egotistical uttering. It is a fair assumption that he "picked up the gaffe" in a party backroom somewhere. There isnt too much that is genuine in Rudd's unholy quest for the Grail imo.
