watso is a wonderful, sensitive human being who, at least, tries to do the right thing. The laissez faire attitude about environmental pollution will do nothing to limit it. On the contrary, it will propagate it and it will do so ever more prodigiously. Plastic bags -and plastic in general pollutes. There's no doubt about it. Anything that can be done to reduce that pollution will be good. There are many ways of eliminating, or reducing the use of oil-based plastics. A number of countries have taken up various initiatives -let's learn from them; let's have our antenae wide open and receptive for any new developments and let's adapt them when they become feasible. Let's not simply disparage the thought because it came out of a Labor pollie but let's all work together to rid our environment of a highly visible and obviously devastating cancer. Personally, I can't wait to see what will be implemented but I do the best I can to minimise the use of this cursed invention.
