Need we all be reminded that the bags would not be an issue if only we all took more care in their disposal.
Personally I find cigarette butts as great a scourge on our environment, they are a whole lot less useful than a plastic bag and possibly more likely to be disposed of incorrectly. Mr Garret who has travelled this country extensively would also be aware of the coke, fanta, beer bottles etc that line the sides of our highways in their millions.
For goodness sake, why ban one of Australia's most useful reusables? I reuse my bags in the way of garbage disposal, camping, storage etc, just as many resourceful Aussies do.
Cigarette buts don't even offer a single purpose from the perspective being re-usable and they also suffer the same problem of indiscriminate disposal.
Garret would appear to be on a green high. I hope in time he will have a lot more to offer than the small minded ideals of the planet saving "hippies" that he has so far exhibited.
