One of the problems with Hydrogen is it has 1/3 the energy content of CH4. So while it could be mixed with natural gas in pipelines to make things "greener" there is a transport limit on current infrastructure. So to go pure Hydrogen, the transmission system would have to tripled. Hence why Japan is shying away from it. Also why Santos has changed it's plans.
Another very expensive green dream.
