    Hi Kyme,

    I ask the same question a couple of weeks ago to a friend who is a geologist in oil and gas, below is his response.

    "Does not matter at all about the water depth, many gas fields are shallow, the coals to the west in the sydney basins will have generated gas, all depends if there is any gas still there, again, is there a decent trap, that is the key!"
