I think that since they are still pumping water out at the same rate there is no chance for gas shows just yet. The gas should be forming in the de-watered spaces left behind. Gas phases into the gas phase when there's empty spaces. There would be a halo of water volume surrounding the pipe inlet as it is pumped out. Not until it is totally sucked that there will be empty spaces remaining.

It would be easy to lose faith in the project while waiting for this underground lake to dry out. 100,000 metres of de-watering approx. 85 - 90% of the job done. It is a water aquifer hosted in a coal seam. Hopefully for shareholders it will soon be a productive gas resource.
