I have become a 'gas sceptic' for Australia - Aussie will continue to be a major exporter of gas (which is essentially free to many customers) as contracts with Japan etc "must be respected" .... but in Aussie, where climate hysteria is still good politics, batteries etc seem the inevitable.
And let's face it, there's more money for promoters of "alternative energy" than old fashion reliable petrochemical or nuclear ....
Meanwhile, IOUSA boosters loudly proclaim that one of the IOUSA's advantages remains its "energy independence", and America produces more natural gas than the rest of the world combined ..... and they simultaneously claim credit for reducing their "carbon footprint" ( by replacing coal fired power stations with gas ) while increasing over all emissions in line with economic growth .... and they criticise China for being the biggest emitter, building coal fired power stations etc etc, even though China's contribution total GH gases in the atmosphere is a small fraction of that put her over the last 200yrs by Europe and America, as China industrialisation only really started in earnest less than 50yrs ago ... and China has 4 times the IOUSA population.
All gas plays on the East Coast seem to be stalled .... COI, COE, QPM to name a few ... even an unlikely Coalition victory in the next election wont change this dynamic in Australia ..... meanwhile China India and Africa will put in place 50yrs+ of gas and coal fired electricity to industrialise and modernise their economies .... while Australia basks in "climate guilt" trying vainly to convert their mining industry to battery power etc etc to perpetuate our status as one of the worlds great quarries.
