Good posts guys. You can see how complex this issue is and the potential impact on NXS sp. Rager you are right in that NXS retains rights to the liquids if it doen not develop the Crux field before 2021, however, NXS has to officially advise Shell that it wont proceed with a development.I suppose they can leave that for as long as they want but the longer it goes on the more it will affect the sp, and worse still , as soon as they advise Shell that they wont be developing, the sp will crater.
It is very much in Shells interest to wait because they can share common development and operating costs with NXS after 2021. So thats why I say that , if possible NXS should incentivise Shell by giving something up to Shell to get Shell to develop now.
