The Federal ,Govt. is going thru the financials with a fine tooth comb - at the end of it, they may curtail some planned expenditure, but the bottom line is they'll need money & the quickest way to get it will be to encourage mining & energy.

I expect a high percentage of Australians are going to be financially challenged - the key will be to maximise the scientific supports to lower the environmental impact & continue to unlock the resources that Australia has to offer.

I expect there's room for Govt. to take a key role in nurturing the scientific development & fast track the science - not just leave up to individual Corporates to do their own thing - a pooling of resources must help Australia move forward! I suspect the Labour Govt. may be more inclined to work with rather than just encourage the science?
