Gas price, page-22

Hi Mark,
13 Melbourne Councils have now banned gas for all new developments - completely ignoring that gas is used to create electricity (e.g. Newport Power Station), bulk of Vic electricity comes from coal, and ... Victorian businesses were recently paid to not use power due to shortage of supply (may have something to do with non existent renewable supply, nothing to replace coal fired power station capacity that was recentlydemolished, sun not shining, wind droughts etc).
The Greta Thunberg lookalikes within the Mornington Peninsula Shire have recently had a dose of Pacific Islander disease and as part of the justification for their current redevelopment of the Rye Pier have said inter alia that its "... height is being raised to allow for future rising sea levels ..." I fully agree - Councils should stick to looking after libraries, nature strips, parks, pathways, emptying bins and sweeping the gutters.
Better still, how about these services be controlled at a State level with state wide contracts and we do away with the nonsense and the rediculous cost of Councils altogether?
