    Mark,

It appears you have made some assumptions about me. In fairness can I assume you got your free flat screen TV bonus from Kevin Rudd? For some reason I did not qualify for the same bonus so I guess to use your term I must be rich!

I left school at age fifteen and served and apprentice as a fitter and turner, it was a fourteen pound hammer for me and not a silver spoon. I did work hard though and finished up with a thriving engineering business employing and training many Australians.

There is a saying in the UK. If you are not a socialist at age twenty you have no heart if you remain a socialist at age of forty you have no brain.

If you think Rudd and Swan are doing a great job of running the business called Australia then it is abundantly clear to me at least that you have celebrated your fortieth birthday!

You say Rudd and Swan have not thrown a generation of Australian workers onto the scrap heap, maybe, maybe not but they appear to care little for future generations of Australians. Stop and think what a $200 Billion loan will really mean. Repayments of around one and a quarter billion dollars per year for twenty years for both my and your children. Is that a moral action of a caring government? Pigs bottom!

Please think back, just eighteen months ago these two stashed $20 billion into something they called the future fund. The proper technical term for this fund is the politicians and government bureaucrats superannuation protection scheme. Its there for the future alright theirs not yours or mine!

The government should do only a couple of things maintain law and order, international protection and ensure that suitable conditions are in place for all types of business to thrive and nothing more.

Personally I am fine to stand on my own two feet and make my way in life I do not feel the need for the kind of nanny state that we currently have here. Naturally we should take care of those people less fortunate than us in respect of health and protection of the old and infirm. Some young girl finding herself pregnant naturally needs to be taken care of in a caring society. However; by the time we get around to the fourth child my views do alter Im afraid to admit!

When Bob, Paul and even little Jonny told us to embrace globalization and compete in the world market you and your leftie pals and the Australian union voice where missing in action?

They should have been shouting back at the top of their voices give us housing, food, fuel and electricity at Chinese prices and we will give competing a go!

Sadly we have been sold short on just about every aspect of life here in Australia.

As part of a small business group the local university asked people like me what they should be providing industry with. Their particular factory at the time provided us with five lawyers, five accountants, one engineer and one scientist. What does that say about our society, we are worried about money and litigation!

I pointed out that other countries such as Germany and Japan had those ratios reversed. I tried telling them until I was blue in the face that we needed people to teach us how to grow cabbages in that red dust that covers Australia!

My energy is not limitless if the brains of the country have no real brains what can I be expected to do?

The very sad part of all this is that a country like this one endowed with so many rich resources can be run by such poor political mangers that we need to borrow any money at all.

Run properly with sound management with the wealth of Australian resources being used to the best advantage of all Australians and this place would be as close to heaven as one could expect.

The successive government sanctioned rape and pillage of Australias mineral and other resources is a national shame.

The situation could be put to rights in a very simple manner.

If I was running the business called Australia I would welcome all that wished to invest here and employ local Australians.

I would spend the profits on training Australians to fill the multitude of jobs created by my policies. I would rid Australia of all shonky business accounting systems of the foreign nationals that wish to invest here.

I would abolish company tax for all companies employing and training Australians.

How would I be able to manage this I would impose a flat turn over tax on all Australian resources leaving our shores I guess initially at around 15% but would adjust this up or down as required?

We can count the coal trains and iron ore ships a great deal easier than we can fathom our way through the multi levels of international invoicing and transfer pricing!

I would encourage the further processing and even full manufacturing of goods made from our own resources here on shore in Australia. The profits from these enterprises could then be used for even more factories and real jobs.

I am fairly confident of being able to reduce or even abolish personal income tax for all Australians within a couple of years of putting my system in place.

Im also confident that we could reduce the number of secret un-employed people currently feeding from the public trough in local, state and federal government artificial jobs.

I would send the multitude of newly unemployed polititians lawyers and accountants back to college to learn how to divert rivers and flood waters onto that red dust and grow cabbages in it.

Mark I apologies if I have hurt your feelings but I am grateful that you presented me with the opportunity to say a lot of the things I have wanted to say for such a long time!

Enjoy using your new flat screen TV and think of me now and again because I bought it for you Kevin Rudd and Wayne Swan have never ever made anything of any value that could be sold overseas for a profit.

You know what with pride at least I can say I have.

Please excuse any minor errors of grammar or spelling I could not have written this without a glass of fine Australian red wine!

With great respect: Andy Igo Gold Coast Queensland Australia!
