I gather this comment was quoted by the AFR today:

"..Brickworks chief executive Lindsay Partridge told The Australian Financial Review that his company has been unable to secure gas contracts for longer than the next two years and is facing potential shortages, at the same time as it is paying double or triple 2008 prices...."

the solution seems pretty simple to me.

Washingotn Soul Patts owns 60% of New Hope Corp.
Wash Soul Patts owns 44.5% of Brickworks.
New Hope own approx 20% of WCL.
New Hope want to be a gas producer
    Brickworks wants the gas.
WCL has heaps of gas, with contracts running-off in 2014/2015.

    join the dots

WCL are already producing gas, and have infrastructure in place to easily ramp to 30tj/d.
How much gas does Brickworks want?

Stop complaining and get out your chequebook!
