These strategic oil reserves should be spread across the Southern cities of Perth, Adelaide and Geelong. They can be above ground due to the diversified location storage of the strategic reserves.
If we listened to you, putting all our eggs in one basket, a single large bomb has the potential to wipe out our entire strategic oil reserves.
Furthermore, having the above ground storage facilities close to the cities, makes far more economic sense than dumping the oil in an abandoned well/basin in the middle of nowhere.
