Mar'n Ferguson may not look the part but he is far and away the most effective politician around these days. Reminds me a lot of John Button from a couple of decades ago when the Australian economy was undergoing major structural change just like now.

He can work constructively with big business, unions, greens, different factions within the government and also the opposition. No frills, no BS...... just gets the job done in the long term best interests of Australia.

He has vision and strength. Just what his portfolio requires. For LNG/CSG in particular we would be in deep trouble without him.

Come to think of it, is there any other current politician on either side of the divide who could do the same job as well as he is doing? I can't think of one.
