The beauty if it is that natural gas is becoming ever more abundant thanks to shale gas and coal seam methane (CSM). Unconventional sources of natural gas, (mostly shale gas) have become so widespread in the US that the price of natural gas has become decoupled from (ie. lower than)oil prices. Most of the rest of the world still prices gas at a multiple of oil prices, well for now at least.

LNG projects are sprouting like mushrooms after the rain, and a glut is very, very, likely but this does not seem to have registered with investors in Australia. Better to be in downstream uses of the gas, such as as ceramic fuel cells!!
