Thanks for yours mate ! Yes I am heavily invested in AFC Fuel Cells. It is a small co in the south of England.

    http://www.afcenergy.com/.

The AFC fuel cells are the cheapest available on the planet to produce and maintain and by a long way. Conventional PEM fuel cells use platinum which aint cheap.

The idea is to capture the waste hydrogen from UCG and convert it into electricity and clean demineralised water ! Bond is extremely excited about it (potential "simply staggering") and as Justin states trials should be happening very soon - in 6 weeks. Read this next link carefully-

It all seems to be coming to the boil at the moment.Witness that UK link posted on my last post.

Akzo Nobel (big company) are also trialing AFC fuel cells in Germany for the Chlor- Alkali market. Producing chlorine results in waste Hydrogen which will similarly can be converted into electricity.

In December 2009 B9 Coal brokered a deal between AFC and Linc Energy who have made their initial 200K order to trial the fuel cells at one of their UCG sites. If trials are successful this will likely be massive. The UCG/Fuel cell process has been described as, "the 'Holy Grail' for future coal utilisation":

In February 2010 they reported the fuel cell was ready for shipment to Linc:

Those worried about the current Linc share price at the moment IMO should not confuse price with value. I am buying into Linc in about 2 weeks when funds become available. I was very excited at the end of that web-link.
