    Who are the Gatekeepers?
In Fargo the character Lorraine Lyon named the police.
I noticed the AFP in Australia recently outed a 'middle eastern gang' and charged them with money laundering. Showed us the upmarket houses and cars. Said they would be criminally charged and assets seized as proceeds of crime. People being handcuffed and taken away.
So when, from memory, 3 of the big 4 banks plus the casinos were found to be laundering money, what happened?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the people who had nothing to do with the illegal behavior were fined, the shareholders..
So the statement 'No one is above the law' doesn't seem to hold up. That is until you look at the law and who it applies to. Going back a step, who writes the laws and legislates the laws.
In Australia we are nearing 100 years of ALP/LNP government. Much is made of the differences between the two when in fact they are an efficient tag team. One will put forward legislation the other will chip away so that it becomes ineffective.
Remember before the latest version were elected they were going to be open and transparent. Integrity the buzz word and another gatekeeper sub branch was formed. Their latest problem is whistle blowers, how to appear to protect them without encouraging any.
There are so many gate keeping sub branches and really it is corruption. Health for example has a long history of cover ups and inaction, People are pushed towards legal action where it is dragged on and finally a pay out where no one is held accountable. Medical outcomes are then not improved. Example; A person impersonated a Doctor in Queensland. The staff knew he was sub standard and would filter the patients. No one would call him out because the penalties would be too high.
Gatekeeper Rule Number 1 "No one is accountable"
The system doesn't seem to rise above self interest, even when some brave person puts everything on the line, their life down the toilet and whistle blows. Even when the dirty laundry is exposed via a Royal Commission there doesn't to be lasting change or accountability. The banks an example.
Under the Constitutional Monarchy of Australia we have democratic systems, one of which is coming soon in the form of a Federal Election.
The ALP/LNP do not have the ability to change from their own self interest and make the politically tough decisions to what is best for Australia.
OK a lot of words to say I'm voting Independent
