None of those suggested. The price of American Silver shares is just to high IMHO.
Priced at CAN$21.71 per share and making a profit of 3 cents in the 3rd quarter is not on, really.
Their cash cost per ounce of silver is US4.15 and BSG/PJO think that after subtraction of Gold credits, theirs will be US$1 per ounce.
If PJO were producing now, then they would be far more profitable than PAA=Pan American as shown in an exercise I did on the (ASX by Stock) Forum. But PJO is only CAN$5.20
So, I think that Bill Gates' Fund Manager did the right thing and sold at a high price.
It is of course Dec when in the US some stocks are sold to mimimize tax.
When I invest in Silver Companies: Always ensure that their resources not only have enough Silver per tonne -say 200 grams- but GOLD ought to be there as well, say 1.6 grams/tonne.
That is my opinion.
