As I don't have your knowledge and understanding of patents but did find where you sourced the email from Gavin Rezos re the importance of patents - I would assume you read through Bob Brookins' response which sat slightly above this.
As mentioned, I clearly don't have the same level of expertise, but would like to know what you made of it, and if it was at all helpful.
