I don't care whether gays can legally marry or not. I presume marriage between same sexes would carry the same legal obligations as heterosexuals therefore they would have the same need to legally divorce etc. If that is what they want then allow them to marry. If it bothers too many Australians, and politicians, then pass a same sex commitment law that would be exactly like marriage but with a different name. Lets not waste too much time with this issue, find another way around it and compromise. There are enough problems for australians to be agitated about and there are other ways to find a solution.
