Whats marriage mean these days anyway?

I don't see why the government gets involved in marriage at all. It used to be a religious thing like first holy communion.
Marriage used to be a pledge between a man and a woman for life. Thats long gone. Lionel Murphy, the Pill and Sex in the City, et al killed it.
If two people who love each other want to get married why not let them?. Who would gauge love anyway. Let any two people get married. Why stop at two, if two blokes and a woman want to get married why not, Marvin Lee did it in paint your wagon.

If a group of fishing mates want to marry why not?

Marriage no longer involves a legal requirement for fidelity, support or a lifetime. The state should get out of the business and leave it to God Botherers.
