    To say that Politicians cannot make determinations on moral issues is utter rubbish IMO.

    They uphold laws that say we shouldn't steal, or murder, or especially avoid tax.
    They promote people contributing to society as a societal good;
    They put anti discrimination laws in place, and continue to legislate toward every minority and away from what once was a majority. Tell me that isn't their definition of morality.

    And it remains true that marriage has NEVER in history been between two people of the same sex.
    The only people married today (however many millions there are in Australia today), are matched pairs of the opposite sex.

    We are being subjected to an ongoing committed campaign by a small (influential) minority to social re-engineering of a major kind.

    By all means, give them legal equivalence - but don't change our definition of marriage - make a new one for them.
