As an proud Aussie, I am embarrassed that we criticise other countries legal systems as being 'corrupt' or 'backwards.' Our system is still based on - he who has the most money (able to buy best mouthpiece) - wins. The best chance of a fair fight is when DDP vs Legal Aid (ie: both with 200 cases each). This outcome is just the normal standard of justice ... it is very (offender focused) and the victim forgotten. But an outcome like this is not unexpected ... but very disappointing... again.
