Now come on Mr G, you need to split hairs on this one as you certainly have TWO separate hairs just as God and Jesus are separate. You are talking about two entirely different subjects.
You tired this one on me the other day - your trying to suggest when the words "all things" are written they have one meaning and representation to ONE topic. You tried this one on with the "through's & By's" and yet when it's suits, you manipulate the word "world" around? Boy you can be unpredictable as to how your going to read a word or words? ha
One of the "all things" is talking about All the making of, in creation which was by ONE and the same maker and the other is "all things" Col 18........the firstborn from the dead; that (so) in all things he might have the preeminence.
The all things under his feet came after he was made lower than the angels. Psa 8:6 & Heb 2:8.
So zero relevance to the creation account with your support verse.
If you have a GOOD look beyond the Col 1:16 it becomes clear and obvious God himself made ALL things in Jesus, for because of, for the sake of and (all acceptable within the terms of DIA) all in the eternal plan of God, was this means through whom God's foreknown salvation plan was to come, through Jesus.
Seriously, one needs to have a good look at Isa 55 and find "The Word" (God) it's pretty much a prelude, copy of John or the approach, mindset one needs to grasp John, especially the fist 13 verses and Jesus effectively covers many of the points of Isa 55!!!
And if that's not enough, for hand in hand as well = 1 John Ch 1.
This Word in Isa 55 is that Word in John 1:1 = No question about it, and that word came in the flesh of Jesus and we saw the Glory of The Word (AND) Jesus 1:14. But note; as of the only begotten of the Father.............

OT foretells he will be a Son, we then get mention of Son, Begotten Son and now with the Father, 1:18 Begotten God = the progression, fazes of Jesus just as foretold. *Sounds familiar accept it has the Greek distortion but never the less - The Word...... light became........
And God said (The Word)....... Grass became........
The Word...... lights became.......
The Word.......Help/rescue became OT
The Word........Healed became.....
As the rain came down, came forth, out from God so did; The Angel to Mary said.......
That mystery which was Hid In God, (Eph 3:9) came forth, out from, down from, born of a woman which was part of Heb 4:3.........the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Jesus the center of this plan and because of, for that reason, cause, God the Father created ALL, alone, his hands, his Spirit, breath, you name it, The Spirit and The Word are The Almighty God and Father.
God speaks at times of things as though they exist, that is the EXACT way to read the By's & Through's regarding Jesus and creation.
Anyway Mr G, putting aside our differing views, if you have not done already (our views irrelevant), have a good look at Isa 55 and you will see Jesus showed and taught much in John which aligns with Isa 55.
