Given the complexities and sensitivities of the serious issues involved I have been reluctant to post on this subject as I do not feel sufficiently qualified or knowledgeable to do so. I do read the commentary and hope that all military action stops and negotiations commence.
But Opaline I do ask these questions. Is it the case that Israel is saying the firing of rockets from Gaza is their key concern along with the smuggling of weapons through tunnels? If so why does Hamas not stop firing rockets and commit to negotiate on the other issues? These rockets in comparative terms are not very successful so why do they persist? The civilian Palestinian people in Gaza seem to be paying a tragic price because of these rockets.
Just qestions and my thoughts on a terrible situation.
