Thank you for that Opaline. All of us here are armchair observers so it is difficult to fully comprehend the nature of circumstances as relates to Gaza.
It seems to me that the simple act of not firing rockets from Gaza can save the lives of many Palestinian men, women and children. This ought to be the paramount issue at the moment. If a commitment was made that rockets would no longer be used by Hamas, the UN including USA would be able to put sufficient pressure to stop the current situation and negotiations could recommence.
Being a strong believer of secular democracy if the hotheads on both sides maintain their current course I optimistically believe that the moderates will rise up and become the controlling majority. Hopefully they will have better success in brokering a better deal for the people.
