cheers bacci. there is a lot of evidence on the evolution of life on this planet. they're starting to get good clues about the possibility of "life" on some of Jupiter's moons. and they're finding planets around other suns all through the cosmos.

there've been some terrific series on SBS and ABC that tell the story of the earliest archeological fossils of slime moulds as the very initial life forms, and many of what they've found as fossils are still alive today. there is some speculation that some developed in ponds near volcanic sources, but most are found in what were oceans near volcanic undersea vents.
