Westcott,
It will still be mud tracks for years to come. To build a 600km expressway in Australia would take decades. How long in the cashed up and filthy rich Cameroon???
In Cameroon the best you could expect by the time SDL is ready to ship would be a wide dirt road.
Do you really believe they can afford to build a 600km expressway through the interior when they are offering such generous tax concessions to offshore companies???
Where will the money come from in the meantime?
The Cameroon Gov't has set precedents for every other wannabe planning operations in Cameroon to demand similar deals. How will they fund Gov't operations and increased workloads from new projects with no cashflow from them for 10 years???
Doesn't add up properly to me.
There will be a catch there for sure- just SDL aren't telling you about it. Just like GBG.
SDL's future still lies in the planning and dreaming stage and that is basically all you have to go on. A long way to go yet and any quoted costs and profits etc. are just forecasts aimed at the optimistc end of the spectrum to attract money.
It's in SDL's interests to play up profits and talk down costs especially while they are still trying to find a partner - and while keeping the shareholders they have. Caution is warranted on their estimates at this point.
