re: alpha's answer LOL, I had to clear my ignore list taking RobBlack off ignore to see his post. He is without doubt the most thoroughly discredited poster on this site and no response is required.
Re GCN the core issue relates to its lack of money and oft forecast but never delivered revenue estimates.
Since cut and pastes are the order of the day with GCN then the innocent bystander will look to the two hard and fast ASX announcements that GCN have made this year - both in response to ASX queries relating to the companies on-going viability. One in Feb and the latest in April.
It is issue enough that GCN has recieve TWO of these queries in the space of six months.
For the mug punter, the lines to watch were these;
(a) The Company, whilst advancing its business strategy, is also
pursuing its strategy to access new capital as and when required. The
progress is consistent with the statements inthe letter of 5 February
2003 in which the Company stated "that the Company should be able to
access new capital to finance the Company's operations until the
Company is operationally cash positive".
The terrible truth is that whilst GCN's never ending forecasts of becoming cashflow positive have never materialised, its capital raisings have and will remain the most likely financial events to result in ongoing financial viability for the company.
The trouble with this is that it will result in further dilution of the existing minorities (the cash inevitably coming from majority shareholder SSI or parties associated with it.)
Therefore one could confidently forecast that minorities would be very keen to see an exit window open in the extremely near future.
Re 'Monty' - following the unsavoury development of offline communication of threats I forwarded my concerns to an officer at the ASIC. To quote him, "The company is not unknown to them."
Make of that what you will.
Chatrooms are interesting little diversions - anyone wants to take it further than that should consider their actions carefully I would imagine. Personally I see GCN as an instructive example of the problems and manipulation the average private investor faces in trading smaller spec stocks in the Australian market.
Clearly the poster behind most of the GCN posts on this site has substantial funds at stake to make it worth their while regardless of his assertions.
I can categorically state I have no financial interest in either GCN or SSI (and I strongly support the urgent cries of that poster as he has cajoled me to look at the charts - that anyone even half considering this co check out the charts - except that I add the suggestion to match the movements with the ASX announcements and a similar on-line ramp that occured at the same time on this forum.
Anybody can logically conclude that the effort and passion being expended by the multitudinous nics of David is in support of a considerably larger postion/s than is being admitted to.
Personally I do hope that GCN (and any other listed company) materialises the financial targets they claim to be pursuing for the benefit of their shareholders.
But that will not be caused by the voluminous, and often misleading material being posted on this website - for example - that suggesting that Microsoft press releases in some way signal a greater interest and involvement by Microsoft in the affairs of GCN (or vice versa) than is the case.
That is merely being presented to advance the personal wealth of the poster/s at the expense of those who might choose to act upon it without further due diligence within the lottery that is the shifting market depth of GCN.
