I've seen many a faithful shareholder get burnt with oppies in speccy companyies. Directors often don't care if they die, especially if the oppies were placed by a previous director...the new director will often prefer to see those existing oppies expire rather than be exercised, so the dilution is not there, and then they can issue more oppies and win brownie points with mates, family, brokers etc.
Just my opinion...
