I wasn't worried about Citigroup, because while its announcement did contain news of a big loss, it also contained news of Prince's retirement - something that Citigroup shareholders (of which I'm one) have been hankering after for some time. I've observed in general that the US market tends not to punish companies too badly as long as it's clear that remedial action is being taken. General Motors (of which I'm also a shareholder) was in a similar situation a couple of months ago. I actually posted a couple of "calm down" messages in the ASX forum yesterday, but people seemed more inclined to listen to the likes of Martis.
