14esc, that may be a contributing factor, the cost of power supply, but I know the vast majority of expenditure is tied up in drilling and plant costs, and the +$50M spent to develop the 1MW plant will not have a correspondingly large impact on the final cost of HotRock40.

I agree infrastructure is probably the major influencing factor, and it would be hard to justify funding from simple (yet conclusive) scientific data alone.

Geojac, I think the reduced number of postings are also related to the less user-friendly interface Hotcopper have developed. I know it may seem like a very small difference, but the posts should go to thread view on the first click, and even the tiny effort it takes to get to thread mode seems to have an impact on the user experience. Change it back please, Hotcopper, and reinstate the post views when in thread mode.
