    G'day

    Yes, they certainly have the knowledge, and circumstances are slowly aligning in their favour (with the exception of financing). From 1990 to 2006, demand for electricity increased by 50%, with the number of customers increasing by 30%. By 2030, demand is expected to be 50% higher than current levels (with a corresponding effect on the $100B in assets and 50GW in capacity controlled by the Australian electricity industry).

    The VWAP per MWh was $55 for SA and $62 for NSW for the year 2006-2006, and has increased strongly since then due to increased demand. With carbon pricing approaching, the price is likely to inflate more rapidly.

    The only problem is, they are at the cutting edge, and cannot 'hurry up'. In the interim, they keep on ticking off the milestones and accumulating a veritable treasure vault of knowledge and experience. I just can't see that being reflected in the SP any time soon.
