GE/Hitachi/Cameco/Silex Stake Their Nuclear Future On Global Laser Enrichment; Westinghouse/Toshiba Are Making A Brilliant Bid To Improve Existing Reactors.

There are 2 types of US commercial reactor designs. The GE Boiling Water Reactor (BWR), and the Westinghouse Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR). It is the biggest rivalry in the nuclear industry. In this Lakers vs. Celtics type battle the PWR rules.

GE new reactor design builds are few and far between. Now in what can only be described as brilliant Westinghouse is planning to use the latest technology to squeeze every last drop of efficiency out of every reactor.

Optimizing existing reactors and getting the DOE to do it is sheer brilliance. Oh and page 9 of the report says their long term goals in 6-10 years they will look at optimizing BWR?s. Another brilliant move. A 6-10 year lead, not bad at all. Plus it does not depend on any new construction.

We think the bottom line is that Global Laser Enrichment will dominate nuclear enrichment and Westinghouse/Toshiba will dominate reactor designs.

These guys seen to think that Silex will get to see it's day in the Sun !!! Bring it on !
