I recognise we are entering into semantics but really, in our world, there is a weight that is nominally attached to the notion of respect - and it is one of a positive nature.

Respect for a guy like Hitler...even his oratory...is tantamount to ascribing respect to say, the marksmanship of a guy like Martin Bryant.

Wrong and in perhaps hard-to-describe ways.
