I have just looked at 5GG for comparison to another company I am looking at...

I think the issue of launching cloud gaming in Australia, and even more so in a Capital City like Perth is most households that game already have a console/laptop/desktop with the GPU processing power to play these games....the capital investment has been made (can't validate, just a feel).

On-line gaming suits countries where the >$700 hardware costs for consoles or >$2,000 for desktops are prohibitive, but the $20/mth (probably less in other countries) is approachable for heavy gamers.

There is a convenience factor to be able to play on your mobile etc but to me gaming is played on the big screen, like watching a movie in a cinemas vs a small TV at home.

The other point to make is that the $19.99/month is not all 5GG's. Out of this they pay all the marketing/BD (their people) and an undisclosed US$ royalty to NIVIDA, who probably have to pay a development partner/gaming partner out of this, so likely to be large. So $19.99/mth may become $9.99/mth. The ROE requirements to get a return on the $3.2m outlay for 18 systems becomes even more challenging.

Looks like a white elephant to me
