Count Sandor (Henry Stephenson), the current prime minister of Hungary, is surprised to find that his longtime butler, Johann Porok (William Powell), has been elected to parliament. Porok swears to serve Sandor dutifully as a butler, even though he is publicly very critical of his employer as a leader. Sandor's daughter, Baroness Katrina (Annabella), chastises Porok for his political moves, but when the butler confesses his romantic feelings towards her, she begins to see him differently.
