I always enjoy reading your informative posts which are just about always on the money. I disagree with your point of view here though.

I travelled to Somaliland and Djibouti about 9 weeks ago and have never seen a more visible US military presence any where in the world compared to what I saw in Somaliland. It was relayed to me that Somaliland is the US operating base for missions into Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan and pirate monitoring and is a pivotal country for US operations in East Africa. I think it is unlikely the US would allow it to be over run by neighbouring countries.
